Semester Abroad in Colombia 


This opportunity is offered through our partner organization, Moore Marine College!


There are only 5 openings available per semester!

A passport is mandatory for this trip


Interested participants are encouraged to submit an application and deposit as soon as possible to secure your space for the semester.

Applications are accepted on a first come, first served basis until the semester is full. 


Semester Itinerary:

Dive Training through Rescue Diver

All students will be trained at a local dive shop through certification as a rescue diver. This includes, if needed, open water scuba, advanced and rescue training.

All equipment and dives are included with the semester tuition.


Internship at Aquarium Mundo Marino

Through the internship at the aquarium you will learn husbandry, water quality and life support systems working with the staff and animals at the aquarium including their nurse sharks and sea turtle program.


College Courses

Students will study with a local professor a minimum of two courses during the semester related to your work at the aquarium and the local tropical marine ecology.


WHEN: 

Three semesters will be offered.

Spring = January 8, 2024 through April 12, 2024

Summer = April 29, 2024 through August 2, 2024

Fall = September 3, 2024 through December 13, 2024


WHERE: 

Rodadero and Santa Marta Colombia

Acceptance of the credits you earn in the educational program from Moore Marine College is also at the complete discretion of the institution to which you may seek to transfer. If the credits that you earn at this institution are not accepted at the institution to which you seek to transfer, you may be required to repeat some or all of your coursework at that institution. For this reason, you should make certain that your attendance at this institution will meet your educational goals. This may include contacting an institution to which you may seek to transfer after attending Moore Marine College to determine if your credits will transfer.
