Program Fees

Early Enrollment Period CLOSED

The program fees are a weekly rate of $849 and must be paid in full prior to December 31, 2023 to receive the early enrollment rate.

SUMMER 2024 REGISTRATIONS

All students applying for summer 2024 will have 30 days from the receipt of their application and deposit

to pay their program fees and housing fees (if needed). Applications will continue to be accepted for all open weeks.


DEPOSITS

Deposits of $249 per week will be accepted to secure your spot in the class and on the boats and must be sent in along with your application to reserve your space in the weeks requested. This deposit amount is then deducted from the total amount due from your program fees

All applications received after March 31 will have 30 days to make the payments for the balance of the program fees.

The remainder of the balance must be paid prior to December 31, 2023 to receive the early enrollment discount and late enrollment payments are due prior to March 31, 2024.  Deposits are non-refundable with the only exceptions being if you are not accepted into the program, the weeks you apply for are full, or if we cancel the weeks you apply for.


APPLICATIONS

All information within the application needs to be completed. A deposit for each week you are attending must be submitted with the application. Applications received without a deposit will not be processed. Contact us by email if you need to pay with a check or money order. We can also accept credit card payments over the phone.

After the application has been received and it is determined if spots are still available the student will be contacted via e-mail regarding further information such as what to bring, regulations, flight and hotel recommendations.


All program fees for the early enrollment period becomes non-refundable on December 31, 2023 or when full payment is made. 


All program fees for the late enrollment period becomes non-refundable effective March 31, 2024 or when full payment is made. 


Weekly rate includes: all academic lectures, research sessions on the boats (water, lunch and snacks provided), one CMERA T-Shirt (Research Scientist for all 1-3 week participants, Chief Scientist for all 4-8 week participants and both a Chief Scientist and Shark Research Crew for 8 weeks and up), captains fees, fuel, and transportation to and from the Tampa (TPA) or St. Pete-Clearwater (PIE) airport, local bus or train station to the housing. Transportation from the housing to the classrooms and marina. Transportation to local grocery stores for food and other items.  Transportation from the student housing to the classrooms and marina are provided for all students staying in our housing. If you choose to stay in your own housing you must provide your own transportation.


Transportation to the Tampa/Clearwater area (i.e. airfare), meals, and housing are NOT INCLUDED in the weekly program fees.


HOUSING

Housing is available for only $345 per week during the summer program. The housing will have a bed for each student, full kitchen, laundry and wifi. Students will check into housing Sunday at the beginning of their program and will check out Saturday at the end of their program. Of course participants are able to make their own lodging arrangements and stay with friends or family during the program; however, if you are not in group housing you are responsible for transportation to and from the group housing location for transportation to and from the boats and classrooms. 


Housing payments for the summer are due prior to March 31, 2024 unless you applied after this date, then they are due 30 days from receipt of your application and deposit..


TRANSPORTATION


Transportation to and from the airport, bus terminal, or other transit hub, to the student housing is included. Transportation to the boats, classrooms, shopping areas, group meals and other group activities are included with the housing. Students not utilizing our housing will be required to have their own transportation to the boats and classroom.


Transportation to the Tampa area (airfare) is NOT included in the tuition fee.


VIP Airport Assistance- If you would like assistance at the airport having a staff member accompany you to the airline counter for your boarding pass, help with your luggage and to accompany you to security this may be arranged for a service charge of $50. Please email us at least 30 days prior to arrival at our program that you would like VIP Airport assistance.

Program Fee Specials

Attend Four Weeks : Receive $250 off your fourth week  AND students participating in four weeks of the summer program will be considered "Chief Scientists" on our research project and will be acknowledged by name on any published papers. 


Attend Six Weeks: Receive $500 off your sixth week and "Chief Scientist" designation.


Attend Eight Weeks or more: One free week, "Chief Scientist" designation and specialized staff training.
